6 Best VPNs for Linux Users

VPN services can be configured on just about any operating system, including Linux. We’ve put together a list of the best virtual private network providers for Linux (Ubuntu) users, basing our careful selection on compatibility, privacy, speed and price.

For those new to the concept, Linux is a term used to describe a host of related operating systems used as alternatives to Windows and Macintosh. The original Linux kernel was created in 1991 by Linus Torvalds and has since grown to supporting many layered distributions, the most widely used examples of which are Ubuntu, Arch Linux, Debian, Linux Mint and Fedora. Linux is renowned for being an open-source operating system and a haven for privacy-minded programmers, hence why it’s no surprise that VPNs are in high demand among its users.
